This concept of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” reboot/revival focuses on newer graphics ...

... rather than the same old (boring) graphics, this newer graphics is based on the CNBC revival of “Deal or No Deal (USA)” aired on December 3, 2018 - August 7, 2019, when Howie Mandel returned as host.

(*NOTE: When I heard that Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal is coming back to Kapamilya Channel, A2Z Channel 11, and Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2 (or ALLTV); I have to make this concept because we can’t have the same old boring graphics!)

CONCEPT:

... how should the podium light up when The Banker calls (with red lighting) or ...

... the phone should use an iPhone or a regular smartphone rather than a telephone when The Banker calls the host.

This is what “The Banker” should look like in the balcony, but this time it’s a female again, ...

... we have a Female Banker since Season 5 and Barangay Edition (around 2015-2016), ...

... maybe the American version (CNBC) got inspired by the Female Banker in the Season 5 Philippine version (Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal) and few years later after the fifth season and the Barangay Edition of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal”: the USA version has its own version of The Female Banker (which the American version got inspired by the Philippine version) for the CNBC 2018 reboot. Still, if we’re going to have a female banker again on the new Season 6 of KDOND, I want The Banker to have a headset with a microphone when calling the host for an offer rather than a telephone or smartphone, ...

... maybe her hair will be short, and I also wanted something different for the balcony design (where the Banker makes an offer), rather than the previous KDOND design layout (see left above): I wanted the background of the balcony to be white (rather than dim and dark), and we also wanted The Banker to have black silhoutte of herself in the white background just like the 2018 CNBC Revival of “Deal or No Deal” (see right above).

... and how the title card logo should look on TV: the logo design will have the text “KAPAMILYA” in black (rather than yellow) and a yellowish stroke around the black “KAPAMILYA” text (the font for the KAPAMILYA text is “Eurostile Black”). The logo design is based on the 2018 Revival of “Deal or No Deal” [CNBC] for this concept.

This will be the new briefcase design for “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal”: the briefcase will be colored white, and the numbers will be black ...

... rather than the same old colors: black for the briefcase

and white for the numbers; ...

... it will also include the Philippine Peso sign (₱) for the graphics (including the money board and the money amount on the briefcases), the font for the money amount for the case is Eurostile Black, and with a modded peso sign modded with a Eurostile Black “P” text

modded Peso Sign).

MUSIC: As for the music, we just wanted the old classic Dutch music from “Postcode Loterij Miljoenenjacht” by Martijn Schimmer rather than GROOVEWORX’s “Deal or No Deal (USA)” or/and the new current Miljoenenjacht music in The Netherlands/Holland.

GAMEPLAY:

This gameplay formula remains the same, but with a slight difference or twist: ...

... KDOND brings back the models for holding the briefcases rather than celebrities holding briefcases (20 Lucky Stars) (well, because Season 5 of Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal gameplay formula is actually based on the Syndicated version of “Deal or No Deal” in the USA around 2008-2010), ...

... 20 cases will be changed to 26 cases ...

... rather than 24 cases from Season 4

(February 25, 2012-September 28, 2013); ...

... and it’s also gonna bring back some choreography

for the models!

Half-and-Half Caricatures Drawing Tutorial (ART ATTACK BOOK)

Me Drawing a
“HALF-and-HALF CARICATURES”
from the Art Attack Book (with Instructions)

“A caricature is a drawing that exaggerates a person’s features to make them

look funny or outrageous. Here’s a great idea to try!”

- From the Dorling Kindersley book: ‘Art Attack How to Draw with Neil Buchanan’.

From the “Art Attack How to Draw with Neil Buchanan” book by DK (Dorling Kindersley), pages 46-47: “Half-and-Half Caricatures”.

This was also used in Series 16, Episode 15 of the British children’s TV show “Art Attack” in 2003.

You Will Need:

1. Paper

2. Pencil

3. Pen

4. Old photos

ANDRE’S TIP: It doesn’t have to be an old photo; you can ask your parents to print a small photo of your friend.

5. Colouring pencils

*NOTE: I’m using regular “Crayola Colored Pencils” and special “Crayola Colors of the World Colored Pencils”. I got the “Crayola Colors of the World 24 Colored Pencils” from Shopee Philippines (on Shopee November PayDay 30 Sale in 2023).

*ANDRE’S ADVICE & TIP: The reason why I chose Crayola Colors of the World Colored Pencils is that you can get as many skin tone colors as you want for your drawing.

6. Glue stick and also

7. Rubber/Eraser (optional).

1. Find an old photo of a friend, and cut in half. Move the bottom half to one side.

ANDRE’S TIP: It’s best to glue (with your glue stick) your photo first!

*Keep this as reference

2. Replace the bottom half of the photo with a drawing of the person’s face – but exaggerate their distinctive features!

*Why not really exaggerate their teeth and lips?

ANDRE’S TIP: If you make a mistake, you can use an eraser/rubber to erase your mistake.

3. Pay attention to their chin and mouth. Exaggerating these can really change the shape of a person’s face.

*This girl boy now has an extra-wide, cheesy smile!

4. When you’ve finished, colour it in. Try to match the colours closely to the original picture.

ANDRE’S TIP: Before you color your caricature, test your colors first by getting a scratch or separate paper then use it to test your colours for your colored pencils (as seen here), once you get the right colors you needed you can color it.

*It’s easier to match the exact shade with colouring pencils

ANDRE’S TIP: If you shade your colored pencil in a light pressure you get a lighter colour and if you shade the pencil with a hard pressure you get a darker colour; and here’s another tip if you blend your coloured pencils with two different colours lightly it’s not just that colors will blend well, the two colors will mix to a different color (before you can color your caricature: try experimenting first by testing two colors to mix into another color or make the two colors blend well onto a piece of scrap or separate white paper).

ANDRE’S TIP: To make a blush, color it in red lightly first and next layer it in with another colour, but this time it’s a “skin tone” color!

5. Draw a black felt pen line around the photo and drawing when you’ve finished, to bring it all together – and there you have it!

ANDRE’S TIP: If you want to carefully draw around the edge of the drawing: try turning the drawing around so you can carefully draw around it.

 *Impress your friends with your new skills!

VARIATIONS:

Why not draw a caricature of the top half of

your friend’s face instead? ...

ANDRE’S TIP: You don’t have to make a caricature of your friends; you can also make a caricature of famous celebrities (which is popular now!).

Here's a great tip to help you draw really funny cartoon caricatures of people.

You will need:

• Paper

• Pencil

• An old photograph or magazine picture of someone's face

• Black felt pen

Cut the picture in half, and move the bottom half to one side.

Replace the bottom half with an exaggerated drawing of the person's features!

Use the bottom half of the photo to help you.

Pay particular attention to chins and mouths as they can really change the shape of the person's face.

When you've finished, try to match the colours as closely as you can to the original picture.

If you draw a black felt pen line around the whole thing when you've finished, it'll bring the picture together.

You could do a caricature of the person's top half instead.

Or even cut the picture out vertically and do a side by side caricature!
