How to Make a Gravestone (Art Attack Book: “Stone Warning” with Instructions)

How to Make a Gravestone for Halloween
or
“Amazing Art Attack Stuff with
Neil Buchanan” Book
or “Art Attack Secret Stuff with Neil Buchanan” Book by DK (Dorling Kindersley):
“Stone Warning” with Instructions

This step-by-step procedure is taken from the book “Amazing Art Attack Stuff with Neil Buchanan (or “Art Attack Secret Stuff with Neil Buchanan”) by DK (Dorling Kindersley) from the page “Stone Warning”

… and the British children’s TV show “Art Attack” in Series 11, Episode 7 in 1998.

Materials

Cereal box, white paper, and newspaper
Sticky tape
Paint
Toilet paper
Glue mixture
Scissors
Pencil
Paintbrush
Marker pen

From card to carving

1. Take an empty cereal box and snip some ‘v’ shape slits along the edges with a pair of scissors. Don’t snip too many slots down each edge.
(Squeeze the two sides together to cut the ‘v’ shape.)
2. Stand the box up and crush it down to buckle the sides. Stuff the box with crunched-up balls of newspaper. Tape the top down securely.
3. Decide at this stage what you want to carve into your stone slab. It’s a good idea to practice first on a piece of paper. Choose your style of writing carefully, you could try pointy-shaped letters, and write ‘Beware Do Not Enter’.
NOTE: Well it’s Halloween, so I’ll write “Happy Halloween” (I’m using a pencil for this if I make a mistake and an eraser to erase the pencil lines).
TIP: You can write whatever you want on your stone slab instead of “Beware Do Not Enter” or “Happy Halloween”; like “Rest In Peace (RIP)” or a person’s name.
4. Cover the box with PVA glue mixture and lay strips of toilet paper on the front. Lay six or seven layers down on the front only and make sure they remain wet and pulpy while you are covering it.

How to Make Glue Mixture: put 2 parts PVA glue and 1 part water then mix.

TIP: To make it really wet and pulpy keep adding glue mixture all over it.
5. While the pulp is still wet, carve the message into it, using a pencil. When you have finished, cover the rest of the box with PVA glue mixture and one layer of toilet paper. Leave it to dry.
TIP: You can also do some little adjustments by smoothing the tissue mixture with your fingertips if you think your stone doesn’t seem right to you.
TIP: It’s doesn’t matter if it’s exactly right on the reference paper, what I did is put a hyphen (-) in the Hallo and Ween.
TIP: Instead of putting one layer of glue mixture and toilet paper in the back of the box while the front is wet, just let it dry overnight or a few days (because it took me few days to dry the toilet paper and glue mixture).
6. When it is dry and rock hard you can make out the indentations of the carvings. Paint the surface using black and white acrylic or poster paints. Use darker paint in the carved grooves to highlight them.
TIP: Paint the stone in gradients of grey and keep experimenting them using your black and white paints while you leave the groves using darker paint.
*NOTE: I used water to mix with the acrylic paints to make it more effective.
*Highlighting the indentations with black pen really makes the message stand out.

How to Make a "ROOM with a VIEW" from Art Attack

How to Make “A ROOM WITH A VIEW” from Art Attack

The reason why I’m making this video, cause the Series 6 (1994), Episode 2’s “Room with a View” of Art Attack is in Chinese dub (no original English audio is found), but I follow some steps in the Disney Latin American Version of Art Attack with badly auto-generated subtitles on it, so I’ll show you how to make it.

Art Attack - Series 6 (1994), Episode 2: “Room with a View” (Chinese Dub)

Art Attack - Series 6 (1994), Episode 2: “Room with a View” (Disney Latin American Version)

The materials are:

*1. pencil

*2. marker pen

*3. paper

*4. card paper

*5. bowls or containers

*6. white glue (aka PVA glue)

*7. water

*8. cotton roll or balls

*9. poster or acrylic paints (two colors of your choice, but white is included too)

*10. paintbrushes

*11. scissors

*12. paper cutter (optional)

*13. glue stick

*14. magazine photo of a beautiful landscape

NOTE: I chose this photo landscape is because I found an article and it says “A Room with a Farm”, now let’s turn this “a room with a farm” into “a room with a view”.

***

Step 1: Place the paper in the middle of the card paper and then draw around the white paper on the card with a pencil.

Then draw a window with curtains using a marker pen around the drawn line that you’ve drawn around the paper with, like this.

Step 2: Now dip your cotton in the bowl of water, also squeeze and drain the excess water from cotton then dip it into a bowl of white PVA glue and then mold it into a shape of a window frame, and leave it to dry (it might take 2-3 or several days to let it dry rock hard).

Step 3: Now it’s ready to paint, use poster or acrylic paint using two colors of your choice and also white, then leave it to dry.

I’m choosing red and orange as my choice of colors.

Step 4: While you wait for the paint to dry, now it’s the time frame your scenery: take your magazine picture of your landscape choice, then use the paper that you’ve previously used to draw around the card paper with, then scan your paper to find your perfect frame for your picture, then draw around it with a pencil and cut your perfect frame picture (I’m using a paper cutter with this is because it cuts perfectly but it’s optional, but you can use scissors).

Step 5: Once the paint is dry, cut it out! Here’s a tip: to cut the outer windows just use modeling clay and put it underneath the placement for the outer windows, and then use a shaper pencil and poke it through the outer windows then cut it.

Step 6: Finally, glue your window with a glue stick on the back of your window and place it on your landscape picture.

The Crystal Maze: Philippines (A Concept for ABS-CBN Productions and TV5 Productions)

Last year, I was supposed to make a concept video for/as part of #VoteYestoABSCBN to show to the Congress/Government/Court of the Philippines why ABS-CBN needs to come back and not shutdown (is to suggest shows for ABS-CBN), but the CPU video card broke down and it was too late to upload it by/until July 10, 2020.

The concept I was making is “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”, and I’m going to talk to you about suggesting the show “The Crystal Maze: Philippines” concept a year after the failure to show it to Congress/Government/Court of the Philippines.

“The Crystal Maze” is a game show you remembered in the ‘90s in The Philippines on RPN, ...

... a British game show all the way from the UK aired on Channel 4 on February 15, 1990 - August 10, 1995 and later returned on October 16, 2016 and June 23, 2017-present; ...

... the presenters were:

Richard O'Brien “the bald presenter” (1990-1993, 2016)

Edward "Ed" Tudor-Pole (1993-1995)

Stephen Merchant (2016)

Richard Ayoade (2017-2020).

In the game show “The Crystal Maze”, the main objective goal is to collect time crystals in a labyrinth of games by traveling through back-in-time in 4 different time zones, if you have enough crystals you can spend more time in the dome collecting gold tickets to win a special prize that they can ever imagine.

There are international versions of “The Crystal Maze”, in France called “Les Mondes fantastiques (English translation: "Fantastic Worlds") aired in 1991, ...

... the United States/American version aired in 2020 on Nickelodeon hosted by Adam Conover ...

... and an upcoming Saudi Arabian version of The Crystal Maze called “The Crystal Adventure”.

This is my concept that we should have it here in The Philippines: the Philippine version of The Crystal Maze: “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”.

So in “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”, the gameplay is of course that the host serves as the “maze master”, and you travel through 4 different time zones: Aztec, Industrial, Eastern, and Futuristic; ...

... along the way, they will encounter tasks and challenges, there are 4 categories of games:

MENTAL: Mental and memory skill ranging from simple brainteasers, to acute memory and 2D/3D puzzles

MYSTERY: Testing a contestant's problem-solving abilities ranging from treasure hunts to large-scale mazes.

PHYSICAL:
Testing a contestant's physical abilities ranging from obstacle courses, to lifting, using, cranking, or manipulating objects.

SKILL: Testing a contestant's dexterity, accuracy and eye-hand coordination ranging from target shooting, timing tests, to vehicle driving.

... when each game won they’ll win a time crystal worth 5 seconds of time in the dome, the more time crystals they'll win, the more they’ll spend more time in the dome, there’s also a “mega time crystal” worth 10 seconds in the dome, this can only use once in the game; ...

... the players are consist of 5 people in 1 team, each game has between 2:00 (2 minutes) or 2:30 (2 minutes and 30 seconds) - 3:00 (3 minutes), but if they stay too long in the game or time runs out they get "locked-in", but it will cost a crystal to buy the person out (the easiest way to not be locked-in is to come out of the game before time runs out), the team can only play up 10 games only; ...

... after playing 10 games or finished 4 time zones, the next part is “The Crystal Dome” they must get over a hundred gold tickets to win the ₱1 Million/₱1,000,000 top prize within the time limit depending on the “time crystals” you’ve collected thus far, ...

... the rules for the game is: one gold ticket worth +₱10,000 and one silver ticket worth -₱10,000, the main goal is to collect over a hundred gold tickets, any silver tickets they collect will be deducted from the gold tickets total (-₱10,000); if they didn’t win the top prize they can walk away with the money they’ve won so far depending on how many silver and gold they collected thus far (example: 150 gold - 125 silver = 25 gold (₱250,000)) ...

... and a commemorative crystal with words engraved: “I cracked The Crystal Maze: Philippines!”.

For this concept, it will air only 1 season of the series with 12 episodes, if many people would love this game show there will be another season for the series and more upcoming seasons in the future (depends on viewer’s ratings), it will be part of ABS-CBN (the main network for the production) and TV5 airing on channels/networks in Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5; ...

... my ideal host and maze master is Igi Boy Flores, ...

... the reason why I chose Igi as the host of the show it’s because it’s inspired by him playing as the staff member of the escape room in Goin’ Bulilit episode: “14th Floor” (as you know The Crystal Maze is like an escape room type of game show) ...

... and his host performance of Goin’ Bulilit Summer Games 2019; ...

... the music should be used from the original series (the original British version) in 1990-1995; ...

CRYSTAL MAZE: PHILIPPINES IDEAL MUSIC FOR INTRO

CRYSTAL MAZE: PHILIPPINES IDEAL MUSIC FOR ZONE CHANGE and CRYSTAL DOME TIMER

... and for the first season, it will be filmed in The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, UK (just like they did in the American version), this can only happen after quarantine while the future seasons will be filmed here in The Philippines.
