The Crystal Maze: Philippines (A Concept for ABS-CBN Productions and TV5 Productions)

Last year, I was supposed to make a concept video for/as part of #VoteYestoABSCBN to show to the Congress/Government/Court of the Philippines why ABS-CBN needs to come back and not shutdown (is to suggest shows for ABS-CBN), but the CPU video card broke down and it was too late to upload it by/until July 10, 2020.

The concept I was making is “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”, and I’m going to talk to you about suggesting the show “The Crystal Maze: Philippines” concept a year after the failure to show it to Congress/Government/Court of the Philippines.

“The Crystal Maze” is a game show you remembered in the ‘90s in The Philippines on RPN, ...

... a British game show all the way from the UK aired on Channel 4 on February 15, 1990 - August 10, 1995 and later returned on October 16, 2016 and June 23, 2017-present; ...

... the presenters were:

Richard O'Brien “the bald presenter” (1990-1993, 2016)

Edward "Ed" Tudor-Pole (1993-1995)

Stephen Merchant (2016)

Richard Ayoade (2017-2020).

In the game show “The Crystal Maze”, the main objective goal is to collect time crystals in a labyrinth of games by traveling through back-in-time in 4 different time zones, if you have enough crystals you can spend more time in the dome collecting gold tickets to win a special prize that they can ever imagine.

There are international versions of “The Crystal Maze”, in France called “Les Mondes fantastiques (English translation: "Fantastic Worlds") aired in 1991, ...

... the United States/American version aired in 2020 on Nickelodeon hosted by Adam Conover ...

... and an upcoming Saudi Arabian version of The Crystal Maze called “The Crystal Adventure”.

This is my concept that we should have it here in The Philippines: the Philippine version of The Crystal Maze: “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”.

So in “The Crystal Maze: Philippines”, the gameplay is of course that the host serves as the “maze master”, and you travel through 4 different time zones: Aztec, Industrial, Eastern, and Futuristic; ...

... along the way, they will encounter tasks and challenges, there are 4 categories of games:

MENTAL: Mental and memory skill ranging from simple brainteasers, to acute memory and 2D/3D puzzles

MYSTERY: Testing a contestant's problem-solving abilities ranging from treasure hunts to large-scale mazes.

PHYSICAL:
Testing a contestant's physical abilities ranging from obstacle courses, to lifting, using, cranking, or manipulating objects.

SKILL: Testing a contestant's dexterity, accuracy and eye-hand coordination ranging from target shooting, timing tests, to vehicle driving.

... when each game won they’ll win a time crystal worth 5 seconds of time in the dome, the more time crystals they'll win, the more they’ll spend more time in the dome, there’s also a “mega time crystal” worth 10 seconds in the dome, this can only use once in the game; ...

... the players are consist of 5 people in 1 team, each game has between 2:00 (2 minutes) or 2:30 (2 minutes and 30 seconds) - 3:00 (3 minutes), but if they stay too long in the game or time runs out they get "locked-in", but it will cost a crystal to buy the person out (the easiest way to not be locked-in is to come out of the game before time runs out), the team can only play up 10 games only; ...

... after playing 10 games or finished 4 time zones, the next part is “The Crystal Dome” they must get over a hundred gold tickets to win the ₱1 Million/₱1,000,000 top prize within the time limit depending on the “time crystals” you’ve collected thus far, ...

... the rules for the game is: one gold ticket worth +₱10,000 and one silver ticket worth -₱10,000, the main goal is to collect over a hundred gold tickets, any silver tickets they collect will be deducted from the gold tickets total (-₱10,000); if they didn’t win the top prize they can walk away with the money they’ve won so far depending on how many silver and gold they collected thus far (example: 150 gold - 125 silver = 25 gold (₱250,000)) ...

... and a commemorative crystal with words engraved: “I cracked The Crystal Maze: Philippines!”.

For this concept, it will air only 1 season of the series with 12 episodes, if many people would love this game show there will be another season for the series and more upcoming seasons in the future (depends on viewer’s ratings), it will be part of ABS-CBN (the main network for the production) and TV5 airing on channels/networks in Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5; ...

... my ideal host and maze master is Igi Boy Flores, ...

... the reason why I chose Igi as the host of the show it’s because it’s inspired by him playing as the staff member of the escape room in Goin’ Bulilit episode: “14th Floor” (as you know The Crystal Maze is like an escape room type of game show) ...

... and his host performance of Goin’ Bulilit Summer Games 2019; ...

... the music should be used from the original series (the original British version) in 1990-1995; ...

CRYSTAL MAZE: PHILIPPINES IDEAL MUSIC FOR INTRO

CRYSTAL MAZE: PHILIPPINES IDEAL MUSIC FOR ZONE CHANGE and CRYSTAL DOME TIMER

... and for the first season, it will be filmed in The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, UK (just like they did in the American version), this can only happen after quarantine while the future seasons will be filmed here in The Philippines.
